Privacy Policy

Introduction

Welcome to Subby (the "Application"), a subscription tracking application. This Privacy Policy is designed to inform you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information when you use our Application.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. We believe that your personal and financial data is yours alone, which is why we built Subby with a local-first architecture.

Data Storage & Collection

Subby does not collect or transmit any of your personal data to external servers or databases. All details you input in the app remain strictly on your physical device.

Local-First Database: The Application uses an internal SQLite database on your device. Every detail you add—including subscription names, payment dates, amounts, categories, and currency settings—is stored locally and is never sent to the developer or any cloud sync backend unless you choose to export it manually.

Specifically, we track:

  • Subscription Details: Name, price, cycle, currency, and next payment date.
  • App Preferences: Currency preferences, theme mode (dark/light), and custom categories.

Device Permissions

To provide subscription management features, the Application may request the following permissions on your device:

  • Files and Storage / Sharing: Used only when you initiate the "Export Data" function to save your subscription list as a CSV file to your local directories or share it with other apps.
  • Notifications (Optional): Used to trigger local notifications and alerts on your device for upcoming subscription renewals. These alerts are calculated locally and are not pushed from any external server.

Third-Party Services

We do not integrate third-party software development kits (SDKs) or trackers that transmit your personal information to external companies. However, the Application is distributed through the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, which may collect standard usage metrics, device information, and crash logs to improve app quality. For more details on these providers, you may consult their privacy policies:

Security

The security of your subscription data depends on the security of your device. Since all data is stored locally, we recommend securing your device using biometric options (Face ID/Fingerprint), a PIN, or a password, and keeping your device's operating system updated to prevent unauthorized physical or digital access to your database file.

Children's Privacy

Our Application does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. Since we do not transmit or collect data whatsoever, children's personal data is not collected or stored on our servers.

Policy Updates

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page, and updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy.
